We’ve been having some beautiful spring weather. Mild temperatures, mostly light breezes, and sunny days.
It appears, however, that a week or more of stormy and unsettled weather is almost upon us.
Rain, snow, thunderstorms, wind, and colder air is in the forecast and the weather folks are feeling rather confident about it.
If you are planning to come up here be prepared for a full array of weather.
After about a week of warm and mostly sunny days, unsettled weather is due to return to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada for the next week.
The weather service is predicting a series of storms consisting of rain or snow, depending on the elevation. Probably mostly rain at lake level.
The passes will probably be snow covered however so driving over them may be a challenge.

Here’s a recent view of the Yosemite high country, including Half Dome.
We’re in a pleasant time while the storm track concentrates on the states of Oregon and Washington. It looks like the entire week at the lake will be more like Spring, with temperature highs in the upper 50s.
But the weather service says that unsettled weather may very well return next week. It’s too far out for any specifics at this time but their forecast models are indicating a change is likely.
We still have that cloud blanket over us. Not sure why…but what the heck. It’s still a great weekend.
